Don’t forget to relax after a long day of skiing or hiking with a seasonal cocktail or Dancing within the surrounding areas nightlife bars or disco´s.  The Sierras can be enjoyed in many different ways, whether you visit for a day a week, it will always be a memorable experience.

Autumn

Autumn is one of the best seasons to visit Granada. The sun is bright and the temperature is warm during the day. The fresh breeze coming down from the mountain is a refresher during the afternoon hike. The evenings are still of crisp chilled air leaving you excited to wonder what the following day will be like. The leaves of the autumn maple and oaks trees surround the environment as far as the eye can see and will leave you breathless. The wild roses and other deciduous plants offer a wide range of colours that make you feel as if you are walking through the Elysian Fields.

Winter

The ski season in the Sierra Nevada usually takes place from November to May. One of the most exciting parts about the month of May is skinning in the morning and then driving to the coast in the afternoon to take a dip in the Ocean. Apart from skiing, there are many winter activities that can be enjoyed on the mountain range. Make sur e to bring your warm clothes and snow gear as the Sierra in the winter will test your courage and endurance.

Spring

Spring is a great time of year for walking in the Sierra Nevada. The days are warm and pleasant without being uncomfortably hot. Wildflowers and butterflies appear and there is still snow on the high mountains, so views can be spectacular. When the snow starts to melt, the waterfalls are at their most impressive state. The Spring lends for perfect weather for hikes and outdoor activities or enjoy the star-filled skies from mountain refuges, where you will experience a real mountain atmosphere.

Summer

The summer is an excellent period to enjoy the Sierra Nevada, especially the first month, when you can see the thawing process at the northern and western part of the mountain. This process is amazing, the melting ice begins flowing through the riverbeds and creates snow bridges, tunnels and caves. The light that enters the snow through this incredible natural occurrence gives it a green and/or blue colour that is unbelievable. Don’t miss the experience!
